Volvo Goes Electric
The last time I was in the Hoosier heartland of Indianapolis, Indiana, was at least 30 years ago when I lived in neighboring Illinois and worked as a church pastor for my congregation in Champaign. That seems like another lifetime ago; certain several careers ago, for sure.
But here I am three decades later and now considered by some a "senior citizen" getting my first chance to drive Volvo's vision of the "future in motion," the Volvo C30 Electric, powered by an 82 kWh (109hp) DRIVe electric propulsion system using energy stored in 24 kWh of EnerDel lithium-ion batteries.
I was one of half score of journalists invited to not only drive the C30 Electric, but to also tour the EnerDel battery plant outside of Indianapolis, near Greenfield township. The above video was provided by Volvo and Ener1, the parent of EnerDel.
More information on EV World's visit to EnerDel and the Volvo C30 is available in Edition 11.13 of EV World's Insider weekly newsletter.
