Mini E: AC Propulsion Inside
By EV World Television
AC Propulsion president Tom Gage talks with EV World about electrifying the BMW Mini E
Tom Gage and the employees at AC Propulsion are some of the 'unsung heroes' of the electric car frontier. Their t-Zero demonstrated it was feasible to power a small, electric car 300 miles on finger-sized laptop computer batteries. They adapted that approach to converting Toyota Scion xB gasoline vehicles to all-electric with more 100 miles of driving range, selling their first version to actor/producer Tom Hanks.
Now that very same technology is powering 500 electric versions of BMW's Mini Cooper, called the Mini E. In this exclusive EV World interview, Gage talks about the background of how the Mini E project came about, as well as AC Propulsion's business activities in Asia, including building their drive system in Shanghai.

I just listened to the video interview you did with Tom Gage. What an amazing company and growth. They are the best, 500 mini=E's in a short time and now working with ULAN and their upcoming luxgen? sounds like bigger and better things are coming.
Their V2G is really ahead of many people and leads the world. It tied in great with solar and wind getting net-metering and even Feed In Tariff FIT.
My dream is to someday own an ACPropulsion EV. 2 of my friends here in the Phoenix area have them and it's the top notch connection!

ACPropulsion also licensed their design to Tesla, AC controller, many small lithium batteries in a light vehicles similar to their T-Zero. They won awards at the bivendiums all over the world for 5 years straight. They also have the V2G Vehicle to Grid and long ranger trailer so an EV can go cross country.
I hope someday I'll be able to own stock in them or buy one of their world leading EV's like the eBox. Much more practical and use full tyhan the Tesla and more affordable.
Maybe one of the auto manufacturers will finally see the light and start making an EV with the ACPropusion design and parts.
