Frequently Infrequent Questions

Why charge a subscription?
For the same reason your cable television, cell phone and newspaper aren't free. As hard as this might be to believe -- and we're being just a bit facetious -- it actually does take time and money to develop material for this web site and to keep it online. We know our readers understand this fact of life and we trust you'll be willing to share in the effort.

Why should I subscribe?
If you are interested in tracking the progress of sustainable 'green' transportation and the myriad technical, energy, policy and social issues surrounding it, then you need to subscribe. For your $29.00 annual subscription, you'll have exclusive access to EV World's coverage of upcoming industry conferences, feature articles, industry leader interviews, as well as unlimited access to all archived material on the site. Just as importantly, you'll be helping spread the EV (electric vehicle) "word" through the most popular and widely-read 'green' transportation web site on the Internet according to Alexa.Com.

How do I subscribe?
It's really easy and you can do it online using a major credit card. We use PayPal, located here in Omaha, and Checkout to handle card authorization and billing. It takes only a couple minutes to complete the transaction. Click here to subscribe.

May I Pay By Check?
Absolutely! We accept business and personal checks drawn on U.S. banks. You can mail your payment to: EVWorld.Com, P.O. Box 461132, Papillion, Nebraska 68046, USA for $29US. Be sure to write your subscriber ID number on your when we assign it.

However, of greater concern is the need to insure that credit card authorizations are handled in a timely fashion, preferrably for our subscribers instantaneously. Because EV World has a global readership, we would be required to have someone on duty 24-hours a day to insure that subscription charges are expeditiously processed. We simply haven't the resources at this time to pursue this route. Instead, for a modest processing fee, PayPal handles these two critical components for us. We think its a fair trade.

How do I turn off advertising?
Subscribers are spared the necessary annoyance of advertising banners. When your account is approved, you will log into EV World. At that time, we will plant a "cookie" on your computer. From then on, each time you visit EV World from the same computer, we recognize the cookie and remove the advertising before sending the page to your computer. You can log in from as many computers as you wish. For security reasons, each cookie is set to time out after 3 months, so you'll need to login again at that time. See your browser's instructions for accepting cookies.

Does the 'cookie' capture personal information about me?
No. It is only used to prevent the display of advertising banners and to allow you full access to the web site.

What if I want a refund?
We do not provide refunds to subscribers. Consider your payment a contribution to the greater cause of clean air and energy independence.

Who do I talk to about account issues
Send an email message to editor@evworld.com. Be sure to include your account number, which you received with confirmation of your subscription.
