Independence Starts With the Letter 'I'

Tired of seeing young American men and women sent overseas to protect a way of life too dependent on oil, Knoxville attorney Robert Cole parked his car and started peddling his $15 garage sale bicycle.

rt Cole is ahead of the curve on three fronts.

He didn't wait until 2006 to make a New Year's resolution; he did it months ago. He has stuck to his pledge. And his example is a good one for the rest of us.

Cole figures that if 138,000 American servicemen and women are sacrificing for the country, everyone else should help shoulder the burden. Including himself.

You could say this guy is walking the walk. But I'll resist because (1) that's a much overused phrase and (2) he ain't walking.


The forecast consumption of coal, nuclear and renewables have been increased from earlier predictions, while petroleum and natural gas consumption are lower.

The United States accounts for 2,544 MW of total installed capacity and 1,914 MW of operation, and the difference is due to a lack of steam due to over-exploitation of the Geysers field in California.
