New York State Has $20 Million for Clean Fuel Transit Buses

New York State Department of Transportation has $20 million to pay for clean fuel hybrid-electric or compressed natural gas fueled buses available to non-New York City transit agencies.

The New York State Department of Transportation has $20 million to pay for clean fuel hybrid-electric or compressed natural gas fueled buses available to non-New York City transit agencies.

The money is part of the $2.9 billion Rebuild and Renew New York Transportation Bond Act approved by voters on Nov. 8.

The initial $20 million will be available until the end of the state's 2006 to 2007 budget year on April 1, 2007.
