LAND, Ore. - Travelers renting a car in Portland now have another choice besides luxury, compact or economy.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has added five biodiesel vehicles to its Portland fleet, testing customer demand for environmentally friendly rentals.

The action by Enterprise's Portland office is believed to be the first time a major rental company has offered biodiesel vehicles, The (Portland) Daily Journal of Commerce reported.

Bio-Beetle, the only other rental company to offer biodiesel to its customers, got its start last year in Hawaii and recently opened its second office, in Los Angeles.
