DETROIT - The new General Motors Company began operations today with a new corporate structure, a stronger balance sheet, and a renewed commitment to make the customer the center of everything the new GM does.
"Today marks a new beginning for General Motors, one that will allow every employee, including me, to get back to the business of designing, building and selling great cars and trucks and serving the needs of our customers," said Fritz Henderson, president and CEO. The 'link to original article' goes to a 'blank page'--is GM speechless or absent-minded? One thing I've heard them muttering about is on-line vehicle-ordering...I wonder if GM is going to 'regionalize' their sales--have a few big company-owned big- box car stores/repair shops with all fussy warrantee work done at special 'claims centers [like insurance adjustments/settlements]? Hopefully GM will take Neil Young's advice and build 'gliders' which can be finished as BEVs, biodiesels, Ethanolburners or CNG users--plus HHO! Why not get 30%-100% savings on top of any fuel and elec- tricity for very low cost--or nuthing! While you are away, your 'residential battery bank' charges up and then feeds it to your electric car--for little, if any cost! Works for me!.. Aaron..
