Tesla's claim that one version of its upcoming Model S electric sedan can be driven 300 miles before it needs to be recharged is raising eyebrows from others in the electric car and battery fields.

The Sunrise went 377 mi on a single charge fifteen years ago, so why be skeptical of a 300 mi range today?

It is possible wen the car is comming out.
The battery industry is innovating fast. For instance the Basf in Germany is devolping a zink-air battery that is going to be 3 times better then the li-ion battery's of today.
A better storage of the energie and a lighter battery, so it has les weight.
That together is creating a better battrey, and a longer range between charges.

But of course the Sunrise did 277 miles on a charge, about 11 years ago! Before GM bought the rights to the NMH battery, which was in Jame's car. You saw the movie Who Killed the Electric Car"?No? You DIDN'T? Go rent it NOW!! GM BLEW a stranglehold on the EV thing, TEN years ago! They'd rather go broke than build electrics. History bumbles on, our GNP goes intoi the hands of Oil Barons, slimy dictators, etc.As we, the US goes broke! WE have the inginuity to get US out of all this mess, IF we can put politics aside a few minutes?
