Chery to Launch S18 Electric Car Sales Summer of 2010

The company expects to sell about 30,000 cars over the next 3-4 years.

Chery Automobile will start selling its first plug-in electric model, the S18, around June, reported Bloomberg on Thursday, citing one of Chery's official.

The company expects to sell about 30,000 S18s within three or four years, said Fang Yunzhou, vice president of Chery's new energy vehicle operations.

The car will cost as much as 130,000 yuan ($19,000).
