Mitsubishi in Talks with Brazilian Gov't About Electric Car

If talks are successful, i-MIEV electric car would be introduced into Brazil in 2013.

Mitsubishi is in talks with the Brazilian government over an electric car it wants to introduce in Latin America's largest nation in 2013.

Company executives are seeking tax exemptions during meetings with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The automaker's president for Brazil showed Silva the Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle (i-MiEv), which can run up to six hours without a charge and reach 80 mph (130 kph).
