More shoppers than ever are accepting hybrid vehicles as a way to reduce their environmental footprint and cut down on fuel consumption.
Recent hybrid offerings from various manufacturers are new to the market and relatively unproven, but Toyota lays claim to pioneering and perfecting gas/electric hybrid technology and selling more units worldwide than any other brand.
In fact, the Japanese automaker recently announced that global cumulative sales of its hybrid vehicles have topped the three-million mark, with more than 3.03 million units sold worldwide as of the end of February. Nearly 53,000 of these were sold to Canadian shoppers.
