Mitsubishi Electric Car Tops EPA Fuel Efficiency List

TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said Friday that its i-MiEV electric vehicle holds the No. 1 spot in fuel efficiency for model year 2012 cars sold in the United States in the annual Fuel Economy Guide released by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.
The i-MiEV, called the Mitsubishi i in the United States, scored 112 miles per gallon in the Fuel Economy Guide rankings, which are based on the combined fuel economy of city and highway driving.
Nissan Motor Co.'s Leaf EV came in second at 99 miles per gallon, according to the guide.
