E-Bikes Aim to Encourage Cycle Commuting
For one convert, Citadel was as insurmountable as the fortress it was named for. Another wanted to shorten his commute time from west Calgary to east.
Leisa Haidl's conversion came as a result of health, hills and distance.
"I used to bike to work downtown, Market Mall and even Northland Village. I live in Sandstone in the northwest so it was a 25-kilometre ride. And the hills . . . . Well, that one on 14th Street. That's one big, steep hill. I couldn't do it."
