After spending a whole school year brainstorming, sketching, building, testing and sometimes -- to their chagrin -- rehabilitating their plexiglass-wrapped rocket car, members of the Wahoo High School Electric Vehicle Team put their hard work and competitive mettle to the test against dozens of others at Saturday's Big Red Invitational Power Drive on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus.

And when all was said and done, eight months' worth of resilience had paid off for Car 44 and its crew.
