While the wheels are just spinning on the Fluence and Kangoo
As the largest European market, nearly all the manufacturers keep a close eye on Germany. But for Renault’s electric cars, the German market hasn’t really been very enthusiastic. Over the first 5 months of the year, less than 600 Fluence and Kangoos have been sold. But then the Twizy came along and created quite a surprise. This small car appears on the German market on 21 April and Renault have already sold 1000! In total in Europe, Renault have already sold 6500. That’s a very good number which makes the Twizy the most widely sold electric car in Europe. And sales should increase still further since there are several countries where the Twizy is not yet available (or has been since only very recently) but we’ll have to see over the long term once the novelty effect has worn off. Talking about Germany, don’t forget the winters there are cold. In our humble opinion, driving without any side windows leaves a lot to be desired.
