MONTREAL - Electric cars are slowly starting to make their way out into the real world as consumers start snapping up the likes of the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt and, now, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV (there are also electric cars from Fisker Automotive and Tesla Motors, but those are for the more well-heeled consumers).
The i-MiEV I tested a few weeks ago is much more affordable – especially thanks to the Quebec government rebates of between $5,000 and $8,000 when buying an electric vehicle.
The four-seater i-MiEV starts at $32,998, with the price topping out at $36,298 for a model equipped with the premium package.
