Havyard Launches Hybrid Plaform Service Vessel

The Platform Service Vessel (PSV) in given operations uses 30 to 40% less fuel compared with a traditional PSV.

Fosnav├ąg, Norway, headquartered Havyard Group ASA is to construct a hybrid battery powered Arctic PSV for Iceland's Fafnir Offshore.

The Havyard 833 WE ICE platform supply vessel will be designed by Havyard Design and Solutions in Fosnav├ąg and will be constructed at the Havyard Ship Technology shipyard in Leirvik in Sogn, Norway, with the hull being built in Turkey. The vessel will be newbuild number 126 and has a contract value of just above NOK 350 million. It is due to be delivered in July 2015.

Thie contract is the second Havyard has signed with Fafnir Offshore.
