Updated Electric Bike Report Worldwide Forecasts 35M E-Bikes in 2014

Sales of electric assist bicycles climbed 80% in the USA 2013, with Ford Motor Company partnering with Pedego and Dahon to create their own branded e-bike.

NAPLES, Florida USA: Electric Battery Bicycle Company announces the 2014 Update to the 2013 edition of Electric Bikes Worldwide Reports by Frank Jamerson, Ph.D. and Ed Benjamin. The USA e-bike market is accelerating while Europe continues growth and China is pausing.

EBWR projects worldwide electric bike sales at 35 million for 2014, 40 million in 2025, and 50 million in 2035. Sales in the USA have grown 80% in 2013 over 2012 with high end products doing well. Ford USA is offering Ford branded electric bikes by Pedego, also Dahon bikes, that could change the market dynamic.
