Denton, TX – One year ago, Michael Combs purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi from Bill Utter Ford in Denton, TX. After one year, he was still driving on the original tank of gas from when he purchased the Ford hybrid model from Bill Utter Ford. Mr. Combs returned to Denton, TX to allow the dealership to top off his tank.

Averaging about 222 mpg, the original tank of gas was able to last Michael Combs and his wife over one year due to the Ford-designed onboard battery power system. “Truly the battery capacity and system were designed for users like us,” Combs stated. The Ford Fusion Hybrid Energi is a plug-in hybrid model.

Combs and his wife have since “adapted to the EV lifestyle in order to preplan trips geared around charging station locations.” The Ford Fusion Energi primarily relies on battery power, and then the hybrid system kicks in after longer distances have been traveled. Combs and his wife travel to locations where they can “plug-in.” There they allow the hybrid to charge while they shop, eat or visit with friends.

Combs and his wife have enjoyed the new changes brought on by their new eco-friendly lifestyle. The Ford Fusion Energi has allowed the Combs to discover new restaurants, entertainment venues, and adventures.
