Iran Imports Its First Electric Car

The unspecified model is said to have a range of up to 100 kilometers (62 miles), suggesting it may be a Mitsubishi i-MiEV or French rebadged versions from either Citroen or Peugeot.

Iran has imported its first electric car to the country.

The Managing Director of Iran Power Generation Transmission & Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR) Homayoun Haeri said the car has traveled through 17 countries to arrive in Tehran from Paris, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on June 3.

"Once fully charged, the electric car is able to travel 100 kilometers," he said, adding that the charging process will take 4.5-5 hours.
