PALO ALTO, CA - In a stunning fusion of robotics and backyard biology, Tesla has announced that its humanoid robot, Optimus, can now be powered entirely by biodigested dog feces - assuming you own at least 20 dogs and a very patient HOA.

The idea, originally tossed around as a joke, has now spiraled into a full-blown engineering initiative. "We were joking," said EVWorld.com podcast co-host. "But apparently Tesla doesn't know how to take a joke."

Tesla engineers revealed that a single dog's daily droppings can yield about 0.1 kWh of usable electricity after anaerobic digestion and conversion losses. Since Optimus requires roughly 2 kWh to function for a full day, the math is simple: one robot, twenty dogs, and a dream.

"We're calling it the 'Canine Kilowatt Initiative'," said Tesla spokesperson Luna Barkley, while Optimus dutifully scooped poop behind her. "It's clean, it's green, and it smells like victory."

Early adopters are already embracing the movement. One Nebraska man adopted 23 rescue dogs and installed a methane digester shaped like a chew toy. "Optimus runs great," he said. "Though he's started judging the dogs' output. He gave the Beagle a performance review."

Animal welfare groups are cautiously optimistic. "If this gets more dogs adopted, great," said ASPCA rep Linda Chow. "But we're watching closely. One guy tried to power a robot army with a single Chihuahua. It did not end well."

Tesla is reportedly working on a deluxe version of Optimus with built-in poop analysis, methane sniffers, and a tail-wagging algorithm to boost morale. Meanwhile, the original jokesters behind the idea have issued a formal apology for "accidentally inventing the future."

"We just wanted to make people laugh," said the podcast co-host. "Now there's a robot in my yard demanding kibble receipts."

Whether this is the dawn of a new energy paradigm or just a very weird week in tech, one thing is clear: Optimus has gone from walking the dog to being walked by the dog economy.
