Volkswagen Group Reveals First Vehicle to Be powered by Solid-State Battery

25 Sep 2025 | Abstracted from Autoweek

Volkswagen Group will debut its first solid-state battery vehicle by 2025, starting with Ducati's V21L electric motorcycle, a division under VW. Solid-state batteries offer faster charging, longer range, and greater safety than lithium-ion by using solid electrolytes and lithium-metal anodes. Ducati's V21L showcases this tech with 150 hp, 170 mph top speed, and rapid 12-minute charging - marking VW's leap toward next-gen electric mobility.
