Norway is effectively finished with gas cars. In 2025, 95.9% of all new vehicles sold were electric, hitting nearly 98% in December. Registrations jumped 40% year‑over‑year as the country accelerated toward its goal of ending new gasoline and diesel sales. Tesla remained the top brand while Chinese EV makers gained ground. Norway now leads the world in the shift to all‑electric transport.
