EV batteries are lasting far longer than early predictions. Data from the oldest EVs shows packs routinely retain most of their capacity after many years, defying 2010-era fears of rapid decline. Unlike phones or 12‑volt car batteries, modern EV packs were engineered for longevity, and real‑world evidence now shows they generally meet or exceed those expectations.
