New Cox Automotive study finds EV sales hit 93,500 in Q1 2026, up 12% year over year, while new EV sales plunged 28% after the federal $7,500 tax credit ended. A surge of lease returns from 2023–25 is flooding dealer lots, boosting supply and pushing prices down.
