Renewables hit record growth: global clean electricity rose 9.8% in 2024, reaching 31.7% of generation. Solar and wind dominated, with Asia leading output. IRENA says hitting COP31’s 2035 electrification goal requires renewables to reach 78% - about 2.5× today’s level. Non‑renewables barely grew (1.4%), underscoring the accelerating shift to clean power.
