Electric Car Sales Surge Globally Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

Global electric vehicle sales are accelerating despite geopolitical turmoil and high energy prices. The IEA projects EVs will account for about 28% of all new car sales in 2026, driven by lower operating costs as gasoline prices rise. Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America are seeing especially strong growth, while China remains the largest EV market. The U.S. lags due to policy changes and weaker incentives.
