Nearly 20% believe federal protectionism will block them entirely, but most expect entry via joint ventures with GM, Ford, or Stellantis, echoing Japanese brands' past strategies. Some noted Ford already imports Chinese-built Lincolns, while Volvo and Honda have done similar. Respondents also predicted BYD, Geely, and SAIC could target lower-cost segments.
