South America's New Chinese Underpinned Volkswagen Amarok Teased

Volkswagen previewed a new South American-market Amarok, launching next year. Unlike the global Ford Ranger-based version, this model uses China's LDV Terron 9 platform via SAIC. Built in Argentina, it debuts a plug-in hybrid option (up to 350 kW/800 Nm) alongside a 2.5L diesel engine with a 3,500 kg tow capacity, and VW-specific styling. It will remain exclusive to South America.
