Racing Electric Cars: It Isn't Just About Going Fast. It's About Saving Energy, Too.

"Formula E started with cars that could run only half the course because of their battery limitations, but in Gen2 (starting in Season Five) a single charge could cover the whole race. Now Gen3 is set for introduction in Season 9, which means the cars will be smaller, lighter and much faster - capable of 200 miles per hour (up from 174).

"The cars will also fast charge at up to 600 kilowatts during the pit stops that are part of Gen3."
