There's Enough Lithium in the World for Billions of EVs

04 Nov 2022 | Abstracted from EV World

"People have been claiming there is not enough lithium or cobalt to change all vehicles to electric. This is simply not true. The math is straightforward...Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) batteries require no cobalt.

"Second, there is enough lithium for 10.8 billion vehicles, and we have only 1.3 billion vehicles of all types today.

"Divide 85.5 Tg-Li by 7.9 kg-Li/veh = 10.8 billion vehicles."
