Hogging an EV Charger in Australia Can Result in a $2,100 Fine

17 Mar 2023 | Abstracted from Jalopnik

"The fines will be enforced in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, but the penalties come with the highest costs in the ACT, Queensland and NSW.

"...there are now over 83,000 EVs in the country. The upside is there are more EVs; the downside is there are also more EVs vying for the same charging stations...The heavy fines will now apply to EVs that are not actively recharging their batteries."
