G.M.'s Electric Vehicle Rollout Delayed by Slow Battery Production

"This year, the company is struggling to produce a new electric car battery pack meant for the electric vehicles it plans to introduce over several years...delays...stemmed from a supplier's inability to deliver automated manufacturing machinery.

"G.M. sold fewer than 2,800 vehicles that used its new, modular Ultium battery packs...with LG Energy Solution. Two other Ultium factories are under construction in Tennessee and Michigan."
