Hydrogen-powered inland vessels have begun operating in the Netherlands, notably the H2 Barge 2 retrofitted with fuel-cell and electric propulsion. Operating between Rotterdam and inland terminals, it completes ~100 round trips yearly, cutting about 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
