Ford F-150 Lightnings Are Powering The Grid In First Residential V2G Pilot

A new U.S. residential pilot is using vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology to let Ford F-150 Lightning trucks discharge energy back to the electric grid from homeowners. in partnership with Sunrun and utility BGE, participating trucks use their built-in bidirectional inverter and home integration system during evening peak hours to help stabilize demand, while owners earn payments for the energy they supply. This marks a first at-home proof of concept for EVs contributing to grid resilience.
