Hallcon Corporation has broken ground on what will become Washington State's largest 24/7 electric vehicle fleet charging hub in Redmond. The Electric Vehicle Operations Center (EVOC) will span nearly four acres, supporting more than 300 daily charges for a mix of electric motorcoaches, shuttles, and commercial fleet vehicles.
Set to open by late 2025, the EVOC is expected to eliminate up to 25,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to removing thousands of fossil-fueled cars from local roads. Beyond environmental gains, the facility will generate nearly 50 new green jobs and help position Redmond as a Pacific Northwest leader in clean mobility infrastructure.
Redmond Mayor Angela Birney praised the project as aligning with the city’s sustainability goals: “Hallcon is doing impressive work in this area, and we are grateful to see an EV charging facility of this caliber choosing to call Redmond home.”
The new EVOC will feature 60 high-capacity charging ports powered by over 5 megawatts of electricity, with an added 1.5 MW backup power system for reliability. It will serve clients with valet-style charging, advanced analytics, and integrated EV command center support. Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) and maintenance will be included under Hallcon’s EVOne® platform.
Washington State Senator Vandana Slatter (48th District) lauded the groundbreaking, calling it “a model for aligning private investment with public purpose.” Puget Sound Energy’s Aaron August also endorsed the project’s role in helping Washington reach its clean energy goals, stating, “Initiatives like this are essential to achieving Washington State’s ambitious clean energy goals while delivering lasting environmental and economic benefits to the communities we serve.”
Hallcon provides electric vehicle fleet infrastructure, transportation services, and integrated operations across sectors like tech, healthcare, education, transit, and airports. The Redmond EVOC joins Hallcon’s existing operations centers in San Jose and Fremont, CA.
